The Commercial
Finance Association is an organization
with several hundred institutions largely
located in the
United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, which
provide specialized financing services
to meet the needs of businesses around
the globe. These institutions cover a broad
spectrum in terms of their size and capabilities,
ranging from the large
global financial institutions to
the small entrepreneurial
driven finance companies. A wealth
of opportunities are available to meet
your skill set and your career objectives.
Even if your goals aren't clear at this
point, the Asset-Based Financial Services
Industry provides an excellent foundation
in the skills necessary to meet the financial
needs of a vast array of businesses. Students
with both undergraduate
and graduate degrees in the accounting/
finance/ business curriculums excel
in our industry, although we encourage bright
and motivated students from other
disciplines with a strong drive and some
foundation in accounting and finance.
As an industry we provide innovative financing solutions that you read about
in the paper everyday; from Leveraged Buyouts to the
Merger/ Acquisitions to Recap's to Growth Capital, to Bankruptcies. Our
products include asset-based lending, factoring and floor plan financing. These
technical products enable us to create liquidity for our clients by determining
the underlying collateral valuation of their balance
sheet. We then undertake a comprehensive analysis
of their cash flow requirements and incorporate both into a financing
solution. Because of the intensity of the situations that we finance,
the process involves working closely with the CFO's
as well as the President and CEO's of our client companies to develop
a mutually satisfactory solution.
